Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actress since late 1980s. In the film and television industry, she's known for her many nominations and awards. Bassett was born at Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by an Aunt who lived in New York New York. Bassett along with her sister who were about five years old, made the move out of New York and into St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the separated father. Bassett was inspired to become an actor after watching the production Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. Yale University New Haven Connecticut, where she received her bachelor's degree in African American and master's degrees (1983). Courtney B. Vance met her at Yale, and in 1997 they were married. Qualification: B.A. Graduated from Yale School of Drama School with a master's degree in African American studies in 1980.
